Who We Are

Mahsa Heidarian

Since 2017, I have been working at Fysio Team Voorburg, reinforcing the Manual Therapeutic Team, and offering the following services.

  • Individual & Holistic Therapy
  • Scientifically Based Methods
  • Hands-On Therapy & Modern Techniques

I was born in Iran and raised in Switzerland, where I got my diploma as a Physiotherapist in 2001 and as a manual osteopathic therapist in 2007. Traveling and living in many different countries allowed me to widen my horizon and having a more holistic view on my Patients and their needs. As Manual Osteopathic Therapist I also use techniques such as Dry Needling, manual Triggerpoint Therapy, Lymphdrainage, Craniosacral Therapy and Reiki. Being also a Yoga teacher and a Marma therapist I seek to understand my Patients in their own individuality and support health and healing through an holistic approach for body, mind and spirit.

2. What is Holistic Work?

Holistic physiotherapy goes beyond isolated symptom management. It integrates a variety of therapeutic techniques to address the root causes of pain, movement restrictions, and dysfunctions. By considering physical, emotional, and environmental factors, we help patients achieve a balanced and sustainable recovery.

Our Holistic Approach Includes:

  • Manual Therapy & Mobilization – Gentle hands-on techniques to restore joint and muscle function.
  • Postural & Movement Analysis – Identifying imbalances that may contribute to discomfort or injury.
  • Breathing & Relaxation Techniques – Supporting nervous system regulation and stress management.
  • Nutritional & Lifestyle Guidance – Optimizing overall well-being through healthy habits.
  • Mind-Body Connection – Integrating mindfulness, movement, and awareness into recovery.

Who Can Benefit from Holistic Physiotherapy?

This approach is ideal for individuals struggling with chronic pain, stress-related tension, posture-related discomfort, sports injuries, or general well-being concerns. Whether you're recovering from an injury or looking to enhance your body's resilience, holistic physiotherapy offers a personalized, whole-body solution.

Why Choose Holistic Physiotherapy?

By addressing the underlying causes of physical issues, rather than just the symptoms, holistic work helps create long-term improvements in movement, function, and overall vitality. Our goal is to empower you with the tools and knowledge to maintain your health beyond the treatment room.

3. What is Dry Needling?

Dry Needling is a therapeutic technique that involves inserting thin, sterile needles directly into trigger points (tight muscle knots) to release tension, reduce pain, and restore normal muscle function. Unlike acupuncture, which is rooted in traditional Chinese medicine, Dry Needling is based on modern pain science and musculoskeletal treatment principles.

How Does Dry Needling Work?

When a needle is inserted into a trigger point, it helps to:

  • Release muscle tension
  • Improve blood flow and oxygenation
  • Reduce inflammation
  • Restore normal movement

What Conditions Can Dry Needling Help With?

This treatment is highly effective for conditions such as:

  • Muscle pain & tightness
  • Sports injuries
  • Headaches & migraines
  • Joint pain
  • Postural problems

Is Dry Needling Safe?

Yes! Our certified physiotherapists are trained in safe and precise needling techniques to ensure a comfortable and effective treatment. While some patients may experience mild soreness after treatment (similar to post-workout soreness), this typically resolves within 24-48 hours.

4. What is Manual Triggerpoint Therapy?

Trigger points are tight, sensitive knots in muscles that can cause pain, stiffness, and referred discomfort in other areas of the body. Manual Trigger Point Therapy involves applying precise pressure to these points to release tension, improve circulation, and restore normal muscle function.

How Does It Work?

During treatment, our physiotherapists use specialized manual techniques, such as:

  • Sustained Pressure
  • Myofascial Release
  • Stretching & Mobilization

By releasing these tight areas, we help break the cycle of pain, muscle dysfunction, and limited movement, allowing your body to heal naturally.

Conditions Treated with Manual Trigger Point Therapy

This treatment is effective for various musculoskeletal conditions, including:

  • Chronic muscle pain & tightness
  • Headaches & migraines
  • Sports injuries
  • Postural imbalances
  • Nerve compression syndromes

Why Choose Manual Trigger Point Therapy?

  • Non-invasive & drug-free
  • Targets the root cause
  • Improves flexibility
  • Promotes long-term healing

5. What is Jaw Therapy?

Jaw Therapy focuses on addressing muscle imbalances, joint restrictions, and tension in the jaw, neck, and surrounding structures. Many people experience TMJ dysfunction due to:

  • Teeth grinding and jaw clenching
  • Stress and tension-related habits

Our hands-on, non-invasive approach helps restore balance in the jaw, alleviating pain and improving function.

How Does Jaw Therapy Work?

  • Manual Therapy & Mobilization – Gentle techniques to improve jaw joint function.
  • Trigger Point Release – Reducing muscle tightness in the jaw, face, and neck.
  • Myofascial Release – Relaxing connective tissues for better movement.
  • Postural & Breathing Techniques – Addressing underlying causes of jaw tension.
  • Home Exercises & Self-Care Strategies – Helping maintain results and prevent recurrence.

Who Can Benefit from Jaw Therapy?

Our treatment is ideal for individuals experiencing:

  • Jaw pain, tension & stiffness
  • Clicking sounds in the jaw
  • Headaches & facial pain
  • Teeth grinding & clenching

6. What is Craniosacral Therapy?

Craniosacral Therapy is a light-touch, non-invasive treatment that focuses on the craniosacral system—the delicate network of the skull, spine, and sacrum. By applying subtle pressure, our therapists help release restrictions in the connective tissues, improve cerebrospinal fluid flow, and support the body's natural healing mechanisms.

Benefits of Craniosacral Therapy

  • Reduces stress & tension in the nervous system
  • Eases headaches & migraines
  • Supports recovery from trauma & emotional stress
  • Alleviates chronic pain & musculoskeletal imbalances
  • Improves sleep & relaxation

CST is a gentle therapy suitable for all ages, including infants, children, and adults. It is particularly helpful for:

  • Headaches & migraines
  • Neck & back pain
  • Stress, anxiety & burnout symptoms
  • Post-trauma recovery

7. What is Reiki?

Reiki is a non-invasive healing method that works with the body's natural energy flow. Using gentle, hands-on or hands-off techniques, Reiki practitioners channel universal life energy to remove energetic blockages, restore balance, and support the body’s self-healing abilities.
